Try my best.

Train hard and run 5 days a week.
I tried my best in the race and came fifth. I trained after school sometimes.
My next step is to get my gold award because I have only got it in year 3.
I would also like to get first, second or third in cross country because I will go to zones.

Measurement post

WALT:Find the perimeters/areas of common shapes, and limits of answer.


To find the perimeter of a shape I add all the measurements(length and width) together and make sure I add the unit of measurement to the number.

To find the area of a shape I multiply the length of the shape by the height of the shape e.g length x height. I make sure I add the unit of measurement to the number.

Example:A rectangle is 3 cm by 7 cm.
Perimeter: 3 cm + 3 cm + 7 cm + 7 cm=20
Area: 3 cm x 7 cm=21

Dance

                   I have enjoyed learning Hip Hop and the Cha Cha because they were enjoyable to learn
                                     I have been challenged by dancing with a boy in the Cha Cha.
                                     I found out that it isn't that embarrassing once you do it.

Reading Blog Post

My goal was to identify different text types. I have learnt how to identify the text types with their features. My next learning step is to try using this to help my reading. Writing Blog Post

                   Swimming After School  DUN,DUN,DAAAAAAH
After a boring day at school I go to my swimming lessons at Pioneer Pool.
I swipe my card and slide through to the changing rooms. Once I’m in my togs I have a quick play in the large warm pool for about 10 minutes and then it is my swimming lessons. I slowly climb into the freezing cold pool and…
I quickly slid under the water to scream as loud as I could. It was so freezing I almost fainted, but I didn’t. All my friends just jumped in like it was a spa pool. I don’t know why they weren’t ice cubes, cause I was . Anyway, once I got used to the water I was fine, having fun with my friends. But I will always get cold at swimming lessons...

Moment in Time Writing Term 2 2017

WALT write "a moment in time" writing.

  1. About to Hatch (Add 3 sentences for each sense)
I can see:
  1. I can see small cracks start to get bigger and bigger.
  2. I can see multicolores through the cracks.
  3. I can see the water start to creep closer and closer.


I can hear:
  1. Squeaky voices as if they are from an animal.
  2. As I walk past I hear spitting noises.
  3. I hear someone calling out to me.
I can smell:
  1. I can smell the salt from the sea.
  2. I can smell a sweet smell like you would get if you were getting a piece of candy.
  3. I can smell a smell you would get if you walked into a pet shop.
I can feel:
  1. Water climbing up my ankles
  2. The sand disappearing under my feet
  3. The rock start to open.
I can taste:
  1. The salty sand specimens in my mouth.
  2. Rocky dust as the boulders open.
  3. Salty sea weed starting to rot.
Write your “moment in time” writing here using this format:
Opening sentence    I just came for a quiet walk on the beach when I walked round the corner
                                      the ground began to shake.

Paragraph 1                  Small cracks on the rocks start to get bigger and bigger. Through the                                                    
                                        cracks I can see multicolours, but from what. I can see the water     
                                       start to creep closer and closer.
Paragraph 2                I can hear a squeaks as if it is from the giant rocks . As I walk past I hear
                            waves crashing against the  rocks. I can hear someone calling out to me but who.
                             
  Paragraph 3     I can smell the salt from the sea. I can smell a sweet smell. But at the same time it
                            obviously smells fishy.
Paragraph 4       I can feel the water climbing up my ankles. The sand starts to disappear under my
                            feet. I place my hand on the boulder and it starts to open with slime flowing right
                            out of it and I think it wants me to get in.

Paragraph 5      I quickly hopped in and I could taste the sand specimens in my mouth. I can
                           taste some sort of slime. I can also taste the boulder’s dust.

Closing sentence   Suddenly I open my eyes and all of it was a dream.

My reflection on this writing: Next time I want to try and make it more exciting and interesting.

I have worked towards achieving my goals by: Trying my best and using my time wisely.

Multicultural week

This week I have participated actively in a range of learning experience around ‘Multicultural week’ WHAT: I was involved in a range of learning experiences for Multicultural week. I did Chinese paper cutting and I learnt how to use chopsticks. I learnt about Russia. I also got Henna. SO WHAT: I learnt that in Russia there is a building made out of wood with no nails. I enjoyed getting Henna from Dania’s mum and aunty. I was most fascinated by making the traditional Chinese paper cut. NOW WHAT A question I have is why does Russian schools have numbers instead of names.

CARE Values

I know how to show my CARE values in the classroom. I think we have CARE values at Oaklands school because we need to learn to use them. I think the most important classroom CARE value is be aware of others.

Integrated learning

WALT  describe ideas about school design. The school idea I am presenting is a device room. I am presenting this by making a model. I think the school should use this idea because it will have solar panels and it won't waste power.

Swimming

At Star fish swim school I learnt how to do survival back stroke. The most challenging thing I did was doing Butterfly. The thing I was most proud of was moving to another lane.

Persuasive Writing

We are learning to write persuasively. Some places I would find persuasive writing are stories, blog posts and letters.

Reading-The BFG

I would use the word clever to describe Sophie. I think Roald Dahl wrote  this story because its a great story for children.

BFG review

The BFG by Roald Dahl. My favourite part in the BFG is when the queen finds Sophie on her window sill. My favourite character was the BFG because his language is Gobblefunk. I  don't think they should change anything. I think Roald Dahl wrote this book because it is funny and good for children.
